The development of new business of online video, HDTV, IPTV, P2P download,End-user bandwidth demand has been upgraded to100M/s. Cloud computing, mobile internet and other new forms of development will enable the proportion of users online and on-line time dramatically. In the backbone network, it is estimated that in the next five years, the backbone network traffic each year will increase56%-80%, thus China’s backbone bandwidth needs expand10-20times. The communications industry is undergoing a transition-based data services, voice communications business from the past historical period, a substantial increase of the amount of data transmission of the communication network.In recent years, new applications such as mobile Internet, triple play bandwidth requirements to promote the Chinese optical communications market into high-growth. Broadband services, showing a strong impetus to the development, users expressed a strong interest in IPTV, video surveillance, smart home and other diversified business. The face of this market background, operators will focus more into the development of broadband services,"Light of Copper" has become the consensus of the access network, PON technology, with its flexible networking, business ability, mature technologies advantages become the operator of "light of Copper" building in the technology of choice. PON equipment used in China has reached10million lines, into a large-scale application of the fast lane. More reasonable choice of the mode of construction operators to save the cost of building a network to enhance the value of a network of key PON-based FTTx construction mode.This paper describes the Huawei equipment, the PON small network building programs and related principles. Based on the actual network requirements of a specific residential area, for different application of different seek analysis, the final choice of two different modes of network FTTB/FTTH network design, residential and commercial premises in the district. Through the analysis of the different performance of the OLT and ONU equipment, the choice of the appropriate hardware and data configuration, voice services and broadband services for residential users.
