Research And Application Of Network Coding In MANET

With the development of mobile communication networks, people are getting higher and higher requirements for network performance in the21st century. The researchers are constantly trying to use various methods to improve network performance. Ahlswed R who proposed the idea of network coding in2000, completely changed the traditional ways of communication transmission. Network coding allows intermediate nodes to encode messages received from different links. Studies have shown that network coding can achieve maximum makes the multicast capacity, network resources can also play the role of savings and can enhance robustness and security of network.Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a kind of wireless network, which is characterized by self-organizing wireless nodes with mobility and limited energy, and it can very quickly deploy networks. Therefore, it has applications in many fields. For example, in the military field, the emergency rescue situations (fire, earthquake, flood,etc), video conferencing. Multicast routing protocol is one of the key technologies of MANET. MAODV protocol is an on-demand distance routing vector multicast protocol. It is using flooding broadcast in the process of establishing and maintaining routing. Therefore, the waste of network resources is larger. At the same time because MAODV is not security mechanism, so it can’t resist against pollution. Network coding just to improve efficiency of network, so think of ways to network coding introduced to the MAODV, efforts to improve the efficiency of MAODV.This paper presents SNC-MAODV that secure network coding based multicast on-demand distance vector routing protocol for MANET. First, the construction of multicast tree in MAODV protocol is analyzed and the establishment of the network coding nodes is selected by the construction of multicast tree in this paper. Then the network coding optimal algorithm is selected to optimize the selected nodes of network coding, the purpose is to reduce number of involved nodes as little as possible. The MAODV protocol is improved by use of the network coding. Meanwhile, a new SNC-MAODV protocol with preventing pollution attacks is proposed.Security analyses and simulation is done finally, result shows that SNC-MAODV has significant improvement in security, transmission efficiency and so on.
