WDM technology is to solve the business needs of large particles growing far incompatible with the existing communications capabilities, resulting in network capacity crisis in the face of large granular business needs grow, the existing communications network size, transmission capacity is incompatibleas well as parts of the fiber optic strain on the resources and not achieve the wide range of issues of access and expansion of the optical transmission system. In recent years, with the rapid development of power grids and communications technology, electric power communication network for a variety of scheduling and line multiplexed signal protection, remote signal, providing security and stability of the transmission channel at the same time will also be carrying a lot of security stability control device, EMS system, the power collection system, video surveillance system, video conference system and other business applications. These business systems need to cover a large number of the power system substations, power plants and units directly under the real-time and reliability requirements are high. Business growth in demand will greatly enhance the growth of demand for system bandwidth.The thesis focuses on the North China Electric Power Subsystem construction planning and design. First, the principle of WDM technology, the characteristics of WDM technology, WDM technology development and key technology devices do a brief description, come to the role of WDM technology in the transmission network. And then start from the business segments, feature in-depth analysis focuses on the North China Electric Power business needs, through the analysis to identify current problems in North China Electric Power optical transmission network; come to the necessity of building the WDM optical transmission system in North China Electric Power; WDM optical transmission net programs carried out a detailed design, and through case studies, drawn in North China based on the WDM power optical transmission network building programs for the North China Electric Power security of the communications business, stable running and reliable protection.
