Most of the disabled people as well as severely injured patients are still free to control their eye movement. Consequently, by applying computer to get the exact information of people’s eye movement, and then extracting it into effective command orders, we can manipulate computer systems and apply it to other medical aid equipments to better help those people in need.Human body contains a large amount of biological signals carring useful information. To seize useful biological signals from human body by some relevant equipments and technical measures, and then collect, adjust and analyze those signals, and finally interpreting those signals into relevant information. Scientists and researchers gradually come to this subject to develop a more interactive and "human body-oriented" human-computer interaction system by taking advantage of those vital signs.For those sick or disabled who are inconvenient of physical activity, this paper proposes a medical nursing system which utilizes the information of eye movements and blinks of the patients and transforms it into patients’demand for calling.With reference to the mechanism of EOG (ELECTRO-OCULOGRAM), the author independently designed and successfully drew the eye signal acquisition hardware circuit board. On the basis that hardware circuit emulation and experimental testing have achieved the desired results, the author developed on the Lab VIEW platform an interactive medical nursing systems based on eye-signals of patients. To eliminate a variety of interference signals caused by such as the unconscious blink and shake of eyes, movement of facial muscle, etc, the system apply an improved mathematical morphological filtering algorithm for interference filtering. Combining the basic needs for patients’ calling with the powerful features of the LabVIEW platform, this design develops five foreground program of the application interface. The results of the experiments show that the system can be actually applied in the human-computer interaction field. Based on the exact signals from several continuous eye movement in different directions and reassuring the information through patients’ conscious blink of eyes by controlling the LabVIEW interface controls, the system thus can complete the judgment of the direction of the eye-sliding and realize the actual function of medical nursing.
