Baotou City Public Transport Inquiry System

With the development of the society, the increase of the urban population, people’s travel in the city is becoming more and more frequent. Therefore the first problem to solve is which traffic tools people use. Bus has been widely recognized as one of the most economical, convenient means of transport. Public transport system in a city, directly affects the future urban economic development, also is an important index of assessment as the degree of civilization of the city. And it has many advantages:reducing road congestion, saving energy and reducing pollution and environmental protection.This paper studies existing bus lines of Baotou city, which develops quickly in the Midwest areas. It also designs and realizes the city’s bus inquiry system. The system uses C#language, and uses SQL Server2000as the back-end database. The whole system adopts B/S model. The user can access to the bus inquiry system on the Internet through mobile devices, for instant, IP AD. This paper also analyzes and studies the factors of the passengers considered, and it comes up with the least number to transfer for the optimal solution by bus.The system has friend interfaces, use easily. It includes two interfaces:the administrators and the ordinary users. An administrator can carry out the increase, deletion and changing lines and stations on his interface. An ordinary user can inquire lines, stations, transfer plans, and other inquiries on his interface. In addition, an Administrator can also release news, communicate with users well. So the system can improve the development of the city bus system, and has strong practicability.
