The Development Of Tower Crane Uninstall/Installation And Operation Simulation Training System

Tower crane is one of the most important transport machines in constructionindustry, which also belongs to the special equipment. Tower crane installationtechnician must study safety technology and practical operation. Presently, somepractical operations in the construction area cause big hidden safety trouble anddamage of the equipment. The development of tower crane uninstall/installation andoperation simulation training system can solve these problems very well.This paper mainly builds the virtual screen and tower crane’s models by using3Ds-Max software, and imports these models into Virtools software, and uses Virtoolssoftware to develop the tower crane uninstall/installation and operation simulationtraining system. This process refers to the regulations of security technology for theinstallation, use and uninstallation of tower crane for construction and is based onvirtual reality.The main work of this paper includes the following:1.3D graphic models of the virtual environment and tower crane are built in3DSMax, which are exported into Virtools software. All these are referred to “Standardfor examination of the safety techniques for crane operators” and tower cranestructure and function,2. Tower crane uninstall/installation simulation training system is developed byVirtools software at the first time in China.3. A serial of difficult problems are solved, such as the environment’s feature, theuse of arrays and objects’ installation in line, and so on. All the traits above make thesystem work better.4. Physics attribution is added to tower crane model by using Physics Library. Itnot only increases fidelity and immersion, but also assures scientific nature. Trainingeffect for tower crane installation technician is optimized.5. The hardware parts of the system are accomplished. They include the slewingmechanism of cab base, the joystick button’s assembly, and the control circuit. Itimproves installation technician’s practice ability, achieves the function that thejoystick handle control the cab rotate degree.
