As the rapidly growth of the economy in recent years, China’s logistics industry has been tremendous growth. Logistics activities have become increasingly frequent, warehouse reserves are increasing, the goods out of library storage with increasing frequency, how to efficiently manage warehouse has become an important problem. The introduction of information technology and the development of warehouse management systems can reduce the costs of logistics, to integrate the advantages of resources, improve the efficiency of logistics, and optimize the management of supply chain.Warehouse Management System is a system of high data mobility. Therefore, for the Warehouse Management System, the object-oriented developments approach is popular. UML is the currently most popular object-oriented modeling tool. The advantage of UML is that UML provides a graphical visualization model. Using UML for system modeling can greatly shorten the development cycle. Moreover, in the system development process, the communication between developers and users is easier. However; the UML also has some disadvantage. As an object-oriented modeling tool, although the UML in the grammatical structure is very rigorous, but the UML semantics part still uses a natural language description. The UML lack analysis and verification tools. Therefore, a expansion of the formal aspects of UML is very necessary. This article is in the use of UML to Warehouse Management System Analysis and Modeling, the introduction of Petri nets as a formal specification of the UML, which not only able to use the advantages of the UML, but also effectively compensate for the disadvantages of UML, thus making the system more rigorous. Choose Petri nets as the formalization of UML extension, because the UML and Petri nets are both graphical representation. Petri nets have comprehensive analysis tools to facilitate the validation of the model. This paper first describes the basic concepts of UML and Petri nets, and then carried out a detailed introduction to the UML graphics rendering method of Petri nets. Then analyze and design warehouse management systems. First, analyze and design the business processes of the warehouse management system. And analyze warehouse management system requirements, design system use case diagram. Finally, the system detailed design, the design of the system class diagram, sequence diagram, state diagram, component diagram, and the configuration diagram. After completion of the system analysis and design using UML, convert the UML model diagram to Petri nets models; use Petri nets reachable marking graph model was validated in order to ensure the correctness of the model, making the subsequent development of smooth carried out.
