The enhanced functions of a Smartphone have made it the Pocket PC and personalinformation center for more and more users. The increase in popularity of Smartphonedevices brings more incidents of personal information leakage caused by the loss of aSmartphone, or malicious program attacks. How to protect sensitive personalinformation on Smartphones has become an important issue in the field of mobile phoneinformation security.Windows Mobile is a major Smartphone platform with its operational convenienceinherited from Windows desktop platform. But as a platform open to executableprograms and system services, it is easy to be hacked and expose its users to softwareattacks or security breaches. Moreover, the similarity between Windows Mobile andWin32makes it easy to transplant malicious programs under Win32to WindowsMobile. The thesis studies the API of the Windows Mobile system call mechanism andproposes a personal sensitive information protection system for Windows Mobile. The study sets up a testing model for smartphone information protection by:1. Analyzing possible reasons for information leakage with Windows Mobile andthe features of Windows Mobile security system.2. Designing a real-time monitoring module based on the analysis of API forWindows Mobile system call mechanism and HOOK mechanism, and a study onpersonal sensitive information types and malicious program features.3. Proposing protection measures for a lost phone such as SIM card detection andSMS remote command.4. Designing a database system with a trust list (black list and white list) and cellphone information list, which provides data support for sensitive personal informationprotection system. The sensitive personal information protection system proposed by the thesis caneffectively prevent malicious programs from stealing sensitive personal information onthe phone, and protect sensitive information for a lost phone, which is of greattheoretical value and practical significance.
