In recent years,with the development of the Internet service from a single service to a variety service and even the full service pattern, bandwidth demands continue to increase, resulting increasing pressure for network. The traditional copper access network has not been able to support it. Since the bandwidth and distance being a direct contradiction, the fiber transmission distance is much longer than the traditional twisted pair and coaxial cable, which can be a very good method to Solve the bottleneck of traditional access bandwidth.The passive optical network can also reduce the network nodes.so in the background of the copper access mode being replaced by the fiber access, optical transformation of the network using EPON technology is the inevitable trend of network development.First, this paper describes EPON systems and single-fiber bidirectional transmission principle. It analyzes the LLID, ranging and delay compensation, MPCP, DBA, OAM management key technologies. And then, combined with the present situation of Tianjin Unicom metropolitan area networks and access networks(Including the core layer, convergence layer and access layers of the device, the network structure, Internet relay bandwidth indicators), and comprehensive business requirement, it makes a proposal to deploy optical access network transformation program. It describes a complete cutover process (Preliminary device data plan, Medium-term implementation and test).After the transformation, the network traffic analysis, real-time monitoring of network support.Expound the business types supported by EPON network after the transformation, and provide the brief analysis of the principle. Focuses on the research and analysis of Tianjin local FTTH cable laying and Terminal equipment construction, Gives the practical construction scheme of high-end cell FTTH, general residential and office building FTTB and villages networking.Do a detailed analysis on the daily maintenance of the transformed network:List the typical cases to analyze and summarize fault types in it. Analyze the voice and the data respectively. It is important to combine the failure mode and the actual examination. Judge the fault points and formulate the corresponding troubles removing methods rapidly. In the whole process of transforming, we have been doing all related business functional testing, and verify the feasibility and reliability of the design.Considering that the operators provide the access service for users to connect to the internet, so after the Tianjin Unicom EPON system deployed, we did a brief standards for better optimized renovation and future improvement.
