WLAN Network Technology And The Application In Zhengzhou Unicom

As the access network, WLAN gained a rapid development in recent years. This paper discusses the major technologies to construct the carrier-grade WLAN and applications in Zhengzhou Unicom.This paper introduces the history and recent development of Wireless Local Area Network, interprets the different applied range of several wireless technologies, describes the evolution process of the802.11technology standard, and analyzes the reason of carriers to construct WLAN on a large scale as well as its technology background and application situation. In terms of basic theory, this paper analyzes basic technology of802.11physical layers, introduces the information security and QoS of WLAN and studies the network structure and networking methods of carrier-grade WLAN. Based on the technical analysis and experiences summary, this paper illustrates some universal technical points and plans of WLAN networking.China Unicom attaches great importance to the construction of the WLAN network. Although China Unicom operates the most mature technology of WCDMA3G network, China Unicom regards the WLAN construction as an importance means of splitting-flow3G network data pressure and improving the perception of the Internet users. According to the group company’s unified deployment, Zhengzhou Unicom started to construct WLAN network since2008and has already formed a preliminary scale. In the process of paper-writing, which is also the time that Zhengzhou Unicom accelerated the construction of WLAN network, the author gained a thorough understanding of the WLAN construction process and network mode of Zhengzhou Unicom. This paper mainly introduces the research findings of Zhengzhou Unicom WLAN construction. Through the analysis of the present network situation and construction plan, the author details the Zhengzhou Unicorn’s WLAN authentication methods, points out the existing problems of Zhengzhou Unicom’s WLAN, and put forward the direction of solutions. Through the studies of actual project cases, the author illustrates the related theories’application in work. Combined with the practice of the network operation, this paper gave a detail account of the WLAN testing and optimizing technology as well as the implementation methods.
