Moving Target Detection And Tracking Technology Based On Kalman Filter

Moving target detection and tracking technology is widely used in the national life, such as video surveillance, medical diagnosis and military missile guidance, radar detection etc. Moving target detection and tracking technology is researched on the video image sequences of static background In this paper, which achieves moving target detection applied background subtraction method based on Gaussian mixture model and target tracking applied Kalman filtering and Camshift algorithm.Kalman filtering is used to track by extracting the target centroid feature, camshift algorithm is a method based on color feature. An algorithm is proposed based on Kalman filter combined with camshift algorithm for the different characteristic of each algorithm, witch is used to improve the effect encountering color interference. The effectiveness of the algorithm is validated through experiment finally.
