The long baseline acoustic positioning system has been used to provide the precisepositioning and navigation for the underwater cooperation targets by underwater acousticpositioning techniques. The main contents of this article are design and implementation of thesignal processing software of the long baseline positioning system based on TMS320C6474DSP platform.Nowadays, the design of processor is heading to multicore direction rapidly. Through theintegration of multiple cores on a single chip, completing the same performance, not onlysignificantly reduce the power consumption and chip area, but also greatly improve theefficiency. The Texas Instrument TMS320C6474DSP offer several architectural mechanismsto support inter-processor communication, this paper take full advantage of the structuralcharacteristics to complete the whole software function through different cores responsible fordifferent tasks. One core is responsible for forwarding the control command of the hostcomputer, launching inquiry signal, receiving delay information and uploading data to thehost computer, the other two cores are parallelly responsible for real-time detection of theresponse signal and extract the time delay information etc. Data exchange and messagingbetween multi-cores are based on the inter-processor communication technologies such as themanagement of shared resources and inter-processor synchronization mechanism.In order to facilitate software development and management, starting from the functionalrequirements, the paper divides the software into several independent functional modules, andmakes use of DSP/BIOS multi-threaded real-time operating kernel to improve the readabilityand scalability of the program.Through simulation, the long baseline digital signal processing software is reliable andgood operating performance, can well meet the system requirements. Show that the longbaseline digital signal processing software can be entirely designed based on a single C6474DSP, and the performance is even more remarkable than the current based on the C6416DSP.The paper makes a theoretical basis for the design and realization of the next generation of thelong baseline positioning system based on C6474DSP.
