With the fast development of microwave technologies and wireless communications, inter-modulation distortion has taken an important part in the frequency plan and performance ofdevice. The emphasis on inter-modulation distortion helps develop the measurement of passiveinter-modulation, and also urges researchers or enterprises to modifier the passiveinter-modulation analyzer. As one of the most important parts to make up of inter-modulationanalyzer, its performance directly impacts the measurement of PIM, limits the function of allsystem. On the same time, RF power amplifier with excellent performance helps improve theaccuracy.The work analyzed the RF power amplifier theoretically, and then designed the main circuitof the RF power amplifier on the basis of design index by theory and actual work. The RF PAhas a frequency band between869MHz to960MHz, its output power is50W, and gain is14dB.The main circuit designed for the RF PA works in GSM frequency band. After choosing anappropriate FET, get the match impedance of FET by using1-tone load-pull technique. At thesame time, the FET must keep stable. Then, design the input and output match network,coordinate the circuit and optimize it. At last, run the ADS software to get the final circuit. Thecircuit I got finally keeps the gain at a level of13.7dB in GSM band, the gain flatness is well andefficiency is up to60%. Finally, confirm the circuit and use it in the design of the RF PA.Analyze its stability and make it accordant to the index. After of all, test the circuit and concludethe design.At the end of the work, discuss the work and put forward some improvements.
