Application Research Of The Automatic Meter Reading Communications Systems

Increasing emphasis on resource conservation and environmental protection in modern society, the use of the present stage of electrical energy there area lot of waste. With the development of society,the using of electricity and the number of the meter has also increased at the same time. In the traditional mode, a large number of meter workers went door to door charges,. It is a great waste ofmanpower and resources. In view of this situation, this paper designs a remote smartmeter reading devices based on ARM.This article generally divided into hardware, software and the host computer to the research of meter reading equipment.The design of the hardware is modular design.The hareware is divided into the CPU modular,communication modular(including232communication modular,485communication modular and Ethernet communication modular),power modular,external expansion memory modular,the man-machine interface modular and JTAG debug modular. Overall structure of the software is front and back office procedures.The main function including communication with the digital meter,communication with the hand-held setteris achieved by interrupt. At the same time in order to ensure the safety and reliability of data transmission,the design using MD5checksum and AES data encryption.The part of host computer introduced database creation and web design,but also introduced the communication mechanism of the host computer and the next crew.After the design of the hardware,software and the host computer, this device can achieve the function of remote intelligen electricity meter reading and the manage of electricity.It helps to energy savings and the savings of meter reading staff.It also has played a significant role in realize intelligent and information management of the power and conducive to the building of a harmonious society.
