Production costs, expenditures in the production process, production inputs areimportant foundations for product pricing. In an increasingly competitive market environment,the growing importance of the cost management, and the core competitiveness of the marketindividual directly depend on the success of production cost management. To strengthen thecost analysis is an important condition for expansion of production and operation which isconducive to encourage enterprises to improve production and management, together withimproving economic efficiency and enhancing product price strength.Zhejiang, a manufacturing enterprise Co., Ltd.(referred to as a manufacturing enterprise)is a private enterprise in Zhejiang, the company involves in chemicals, finance, logistics andreal estate business. The company attaches great importance to the construction of enterpriseinformation, and have invested a lot of human and financial resources in the hardware,software, security and network, had been in the industry front. The company regards ITinformation system as important properties, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP)systems, office automation systems, personnel management systems, customer relationshipmanagement systems. Era of post-ERP, data warehouse (Data Warehouse, DW) and BI(Business Intelligence, BI) becomes the core of the enterprise information. In order tomaintain ERP system integration, data warehouse and business intelligence tools are chosento work with the manufacturers of the products and the ERP system, SAP BusinessWarehouse (SAP BW) and SAP BusinessObjects. This article is a case study ofmanufacturing enterprise data warehouse platform construction which will be used to analyzethe production cost of the production enterprises.Before the implementation of the data warehouse in the manufacturing companies, allkinds of enterprise reports and manual data based on relational database, the data is veryfragmented when it comes to multi-system data, you need to spend a lot of manpower tomanually process statements, the efficiency is very low, and very easy to make mistakes. The cost of production analysis is one of the most important statements for a company. Monthlyfinancial reports are exported from ERP system by accountants to compare the differenceswith last year’s, to produce the budget. However, the differences are not outstanding enough.It needs3days to process the manual reports every month. Once the financial staff takingannual leave, cost analysis will be delayed. So the data warehouse construction will improvethe situation above. When the monthly financial reports are completed, the data warehouseplatform immediately load the data, through the browser, you can immediately review thecost of production reports and budget data easily, it only needs2or3hours every month. It’squite clear for users when they compare the contents to the last year’s and future budget. Theusers with privilege are able to access or download reports. Cost analysis therefore becomessimple, high efficient and more accurate.The paper discusses in detail the key technologies of data warehouse, as well as thedesign and realization of the manufacturing cost of production reports based on the datawarehouse of the production. Data integrate with SAP BW ETL tools, it extracts, transforms,loads business system data to data warehouse. Take advantage of the multi-dimensionalmodel of the data warehouse technology, modeling, and analysis from different angles.Statements utilization of SAP BusinessObject created based on the data warehouse, datamarts show reports, statements give a true intuitive analysis of the significance of variousindicators, let the data speak. Data warehouse platform statements and business systems,manual comparison of the data from the data accuracy, the statements of logical correctnessof data integration angle validate SAP BusinessObject accurate and reliable.
