| Dam safety monitoring has always been concern to various countries.Domesticlarge-scale water conservancy projects have build very advanced monitoring system,forexample the Three Gorges Project, the Ertan Hydropower Station, the Xiaolangdi and soon. However, large reservoirs only make up a small number whereas the medium sizedreservoirs are the majority in China.The reality is small and medium reservoirs’s level ofautomation can not meet the standards of large reservoirs.Most of the small and mediumreservoir is still mainly manual monitoring and off-line analysis, especially for thosehydropower stations which locate at remote and poor areas where the terrain arecomplex.The staff is difficult for observation and can not real-time access to observationaldata, therefore can not analyze the state of dam safety accurately and comprehensively.This paper designs and implements a remote and real-time dam monitoring systembased on J2EE platform under the background of a small hydropower’stransformation.The system has realized "unattended work" or "less people on duty," madethe observational data in dam collected automatically, then transmitted to the control roomin time and accurately.The staff member could query dam’s monitoring data and analyzethe state of dam’s safety at anytime and anywhere. The main content of this paper can besummarized as follows: First It discusses the importance and the content of dam safetymonitoring and presents the status of small and medium sized hydropower stations, andthen elicits the background and signification of this paper. Then It summarizes theresearch results and development trends of dam safety monitoring both domestic andinternational from three aspects: the monitoring techniques and instrumentation, themonitoring data analysis, the monitoring system status of construction. This paper gives adetailed functional requirements analysis for the background of Transformation, and thendetermins the overall design from four perspectives: design principles,design goals,overall architecture, system configuration. A detailed hardware solution has been designed,then it gives a detailed design for system’s database and its layered architecture of software combined with the function framework of system and UML modeling tools likeuse case diagram, class diagram and other model. Finally, to a dam safety monitoringsystem as an example, this paper shows the specific deployment on J2EE platform and thespecific program for data analysis module. Practice has proved that this safety monitoringsystem runs well and gets the praise from station staff. |
