There is a long highway mileage in China, and with the need of development ofeconomic construction, the construction of highway will continue in China, the highway’smaintenance is also a necessary link. The highway evenness is a important factor that relatedto the people’s comfort and traffic safety, so the research to detection of road surface evennessis a significant work.With the development of science technology, the detection of road surface evenness wasdeveloped from artificial detection to intelligent detection using advanced equipment, andthen from2d to3d detection. This paper studies the road3D profile detection based on graycoding and time coding structure light, using triangle ranging principle to reconstruct3Dprofile of road surface. The system is consist of a projector、a camera and a computer, thesystem uses structured light series that projected by projector to encode the road surface thatbe detected, uses camera to take the coded pictures of road surface, the computer deals withthe pictures that the camera toke, gets3D profile of road surface and then deals with the3Ddata, getting the evenness information of the road surface.This paper intensively analyses the coding method that used in3D measurement, studiesthe triangulation ranging principle. The calibration principle of the measurement system’s isdeduced and the process is introduced in detail, the calibration results of the camera、projectorand system are got through system calibration experiment, the dispose methods of the imageand data that needed in measurement are stated comprehensively. Through different roadsurface model color experiments in different environmental light intensity, the road3D profileis got, at last the3D profile of the road surface is got in different road surface roughnessmodel, and the roughness information of road surface model is got through the form ofcalculating the variance in the experiment of bump road model.Through the experiment it shows that there is no obvious influence to the detection resultfor the environment using coded structured light to detect road3D profile in normal lightroom; the road surface3D profile can be preferably got by the structured light3D detection in grey or dark grey color road surface; the road surface roughness variance can be calclulatedby processing the road surface3D information, and getting the road surface roughnessinformation.
