High dynamic range image, whose dynamic range is far beyond the general existing display devices’, can represent a wide range of scene’s luminance and color information. So, rending high dynamic range of images is a very important research of this area.Base on previous studies, a dynamic range compression algorithm of high dynamic range image (HDRI) with color correction which can compensation image detail was presented. Base on the Retinex theory, the boundary of image was compensated by the detail information which is extracted from light component. The algorithm maintains the details of high brightness and dark part under the same computational complexity as the algorithm based on bilateral filtering. In particular, the Information on the reflective layer is adaptively adjusted so as to compress the dynamic range of the HDR images and the algorithm also removes the halo phenomenon. Furthermore, through the color correction, this method can prevent color distortion and make the target images achieve better visual effect.In this paper, the final implementation of the algorithm is simulated. The experiment results are compared with MSRCR and bilateral methods’. The final results show that it has better dynamic range compression than other traditional methods, and not only details but also color of the HDR images can be reproduced in visual point of view.
