Because of the openness of Android source code and good user experience,Android have been used more and more as the operating system of smart phones. WiFi,as a wireless access technology, has been more widely used on mobile devices,due toits flexibility and mobility.The main content of this paper is the implementation ofWiFi driver module.This design uses Broadcom BCM4319as the WiFi chip and the hardwaredevelopment platform is Qualcomm MSM7227system.This paper first introducesAndroid archtecture and Linux device driver,and gives an introduction ofIEEE802.11b/g/n standard and networking modes of WiFi.Then,in detail,analyzes thehardware features and practical design of electric circuit of MSM7227andBCM4319.At the same time,makes a deep understand about the WiFi archtecture ofAndroid and Linux kernel.And the design of BCM4319driver module is given indetail.The following mainly discusses the implementation of BCM4319driver modulesin aspects of initialization and data transfe.Finally,tests and verifies transmit power andlink speed of BCM4319.From the test results, both transmit power and link speed show excellentperformance.And this also reflects the success of the driver design.
