Modern municipal construction require more efficient lighting system.Because of many defects and shortcomings, the traditional street light control and maintenance system can’t adapt to the needs of city development. ZigBee technology is a riseing wireless network technology in recent years, which have unique advantages in cost, power consumption and security area. Based on the study of ZigBee protocol and application field of street lighting control, a ZigBee networking solution for lamp lighting is designed. Specifically, the following contents were discussed.First of all, with the study of the street lamp control field at home and abroad, we summarized advantages and deficiencies of the cases implecation. After this, we could borrow ideas from prvious experience and lessons.Second, ZigBee wireless network technology was introduced in detail. Through the analysis of ZigBee general situation and comparison with other communication technology, feathers and advantages of ZigBee networking which adapted for use in street lamp area was discussed.Then, a detailed ZigBee network formation theory was introduced and analyzed. This paper introduced the communication process of ZigBee networking from original language view. Then we discussed how to choose the network topology for street lamps application. Based on the above, we focus on the network formation, address assignment and routing mechanism in Mesh networking. Through the analysis of the frame packet caught from self designed ZigBee sniffer, the paper verified ZigBee networking formation process and made ZigBee networking theory clear.Further more, according to the ZigBee mass networking weakness, the "PANs interconnected" improvement mechanism was put forward. On the basis of this mechanism, two specific solutions is proposed.Then this paper gave a concrete plan design and implementation for ZigBee intelligent gateway solution. The experimental results show that, ZigBee intelligent gateway preliminary achive the goal for PAN’s infomation exchange.The last chapter basically explored lamps networking design method based on ZigBee network principle.From platform selection, hardware design and software design prospects, a detailed ZigBee network technology used in street lamp lighting system applications was proposed. then the paper test the lamp networking form communication distance test, signal quality test and control performance test.From all the above three experiments, the paper draw quality test and control performance test.From all the above three experiments, the paper draw a conclusion that the designed lighting networking method could satisfy the current street lamp lighting requirements.
