With the rapid development of the national economy of our country, the requirement of the convenient and shortcut communication is more and more urgent. And that as the communication means which can overlay the earth large-area and all period of time, satellite mobile communications have become the developing hotspot of the various countries recently. The satellite handset is the most equipment in the satellite mobile communication system.The major contributions of this paper are as follows:1. The scheme design of the satellite mobile communication handset is accomplished, and the work principle、the component as well as the design foundation of each functional part of the satellite handset are illuminated in detail. And the software and the hardware design of the handset are accomplished. The test result is presented according to the key design and the hardware implementation in this thesis.2. The scheme by adopting the matched filter design technique driven by higher multiple clock for the fast synchronization of the spread spectrum code is presented. Then the major parameters of the matched filter are simulated. The result of the simulation shows that the capture probability can be improved by selecting the appropriate parameters.3. The fast carrier synchronization algorithm by means of the carrier scan and the double frequency estimate is presented, and the estimate error and the synchronization performance are simulated. The result of simulation shows that the scheme using PLL to track after twice frequency estimation can augment the frequency capture range and shorten the capture time.4. The compute method of the handset power consumption is proposed from the whole handset level、the module level and the code design level respectively. The lower power consumption design foundation is presented in each level. The test result of the whole handset shows that the lower power consumption design purpose of the handset is achieved by adopting the above lower power consumption design technique.
