| LED display is a display which can be used to show various kinds of information such as characters, graphs, images, animations, video recordings, and so on. In addition, that illumining or extinguishing a two-terminal semiconductor device is the video mode of LED display. LED display is characterized by its long transmitting distance for visualization, its high luminance, low cost, etc. In the advanced information society today, the application of LED has been developed unprecedentedly. Large-scale screen for advertisement, computer monitor, mobile phone, even watch, etc. have extensively used LED display. LED display is altering our manufacturing abilities, our life styles, working methods, even learning ways.However, to keep class well-ordered in class management, the class sponsor needs to deliver large information to his students frequently. At this time, the traditional blackboards and publicity columns are obviously insufficient. To solve this problem, this essay will design a surface-included system of LED display and the upper computer. The lower machine of this system will adopt AT89S51MCU as its controller. Its column driver circuit will be controlled by74HC595, and its line diffuser circuit will be controlled by74HC154. The lower machine will store the dot-matrix date which delivered by the software of the upper computer through an I2C bus-extended memory AT24C16. The size of this LED lattice screen will be64×32i. e.64lines×32rows. The system will need32LED basic units whose size is8×8, and its mono-chip computer can order the display to show8dot matrix Chinese characters which is in size of16×16one time and to display characters and digits simultaneously. The managerial system of LED display will be programmed by the upper computer. This design will realize the creating of binary codes for Chinese characters through the Visual Basic development environment and will achieve the function of serial communication between I2C and MCU by passing those codes to the lower computers through the serial port. Moreover, its simulation results and debugging effects are satisfying. |
