| The development of information-based laboratory of Centers of Disease Control (CDCs, Centers for Disease Control) in Jiangsu Province is in accord with Technical Construction Scheme about Information System of national CDCs. The scheme points out clearly the second stage of the development of Public Health Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS, Laboratory Information Management System) is to build the preventive affair-centered Information System (IS, Information System) in an all round way and set up laboratory surveillance IS of infectious disease based on the construction of Public Health Data Center, while LIMS of CDCs is an important component of it.This paper mainly introduces the key technologies, the demand analysis, module design and realization used in this system, and takes the development of LIMS of CDCs in Jiangsu Province as its background. Firstly, accord with actual demand and construction target it adopts Power Designer12to model system and build the structure, besides, it performs detailed analysis and design on functional modules of this system, focusing on the functions of business process module&data modification module. Secondly, it sorts and analyzes the health resource database, designs and implements database structure in this system complying with the requirements stipulated by China CDC. Finally, it chooses B/S structure, Java language which combing versatility, high efficiency and platform transportability, and Oracle database with safety, multiple users supporting ability as well as a large number of transactions processing ability to develop the whole system. Moreover, it can be applied to a variety of operating systems while directly be run via a Web browser through testing.LIMS of provincial CDC is a subset of integrated services platform of CDCs in Jiangsu Province which follows an one entrance with multiple systems way to correlate internal business data of CDCs to provide as much convenience as possible to users. There are many types of business systems in CDCs, and the LIMS which has large umber of test departments involved, complex business processing and frequent data input programs as its features is a relatively complicated business system among them. To develop a set of LIMSs suitable for municipal and prefectural CDCs in the whole province, we have made sufficient researches on agency codes among CDCs in Jiangsu Province, specific process, the scope of business and so on. Jiangsu CDC has designed a system framework, by whose configuration file activities such as agency codes among CDCs in Jiangsu Province, business process, data modification, personnel assignment are arranged uniformly and flexibly. Through the configuration, our LIMS not only meets different business needs of municipal and prefectural CDCs but also adapts to the specific test work in all levels of CDCs.The design and implementation of this LIMS makes laboratory tests which covers physical and chemical testing, microbiological testing, toxicological analysis, health-related factors such as pathogen, food, environment, water quality, gas as well as disinfection and occupational protection to form a whole through network. All these improve the efficiency and quality of laboratory tests and, simultaneously, realize data sharing and resources interoperability. At the same time, it lays a solid foundation for test data interconnection among CDCs in Jiangsu Province for the future. The trial operation indicates that this system runs well and successfully achieve the anticipated goal. |
