| The rapid development of information technology and maturity of three-dimensional displaytechnology has been bringing unprecedented development in video coding field in the past fewdecades. Experienced the rise, development and maturation of traditional2D video and3D video,multi-view video, with its unique user experience model is gradually deeply getting into people’slife, and show a broad application prospects. Therefore multi-view video become the inevitabledeveloping direction in multimedia technology field.Rate control is a key technology in the process of multi-view video coding, and only throughan effective rate control scheme can realize the high quality transmission of multi-view videostream according to the characteristics of the transmission channel, thus speed up the widely use ofmulti-view video. The study subject of this paper is rate control algorithm for multi-view videocoding, mainly include the following aspects:First of all, this paper introduces the background and development status of multi-view videocoding and rate control. Alao different multi-view video coding schemes and classic rate controlalgorithms are studied, and their advantages and disadvantages are analysed as the technicalfoundation for research on rate contron algorithm for multi-view video coding in the paper.Secondly, through the experimental statistics, a rate distortion model, a header informationprediction model and a target bit allocation scheme that suitable for multi-view video coingcharacteristics are proposed, the paper also puts forward a quantization parameter selectionalgorithm for key frame. In order to achieve higher coding efficiency and prediction accuracy, themain viewpoint is selected by global disparity, and then the key frame quantization parameterselection method is proposed for the main viewpoint and non-primary viewpoint respectively.Finally, aiming at the characteristic of multi-view video coding, a rate control algorithm formulti-view video coding is proposed. The algorithm firstly proposes an advanced calculationmethod for sequence initial quantization parameter; then makes a comprehensive introduction to theimplementation process of multi-view video coding rate control in four stages. The experimentalresults show that the proposed scheme in this paper can effectively control the output bit rate andimprove encoding quality as well as control the quality fluctuations between different viewpoints. |
