Lidar, which is short for system of laser detection and ranging, is developed rapid in many fields. As an advanced research direction of lidar, planar-array imaging lidar is a new hot research area of space detection research in recent years. Without the limits of single point detection and scanning imaging, planar-array imaging lidar works more directly, quickly, and exactly. This paper first introduces the development stages and research status around the world, especially the advantage of ranging performance of planar-array lidar. According to dual channel system, double linear model is proposed on base of single linear model, and for both the range performance are analyzed.Based on the analysis of basic gratings, Dammann gratings are reduced with their performance. How to employ Dammann grating in lidar is analyzed in detail, which helps to achieve the application of dot-array illumination system in lidar. The ranging precision of dual-channel lidar is analyzed in detail, and with the analyzed results, planar-array illumination system and dot-array illumination system in lidar are compared.According to the analysis of point spread function, application of optics transfer function in lidar is expounded.3D transfer function is proposed, which is used for evaluating the performance of lidar system. The particular application of3D transfer function in lidar is analyzed in detailed, and a series of simulations and experiments about3D transfer function are completed. Finally, the entire project is summarized and the future research suggestions are proposed.
