At present, next-generation television system is performing the technological revolution of TV terminal, a new generation of TV terminal such as Digital TV, Internet TV, Smart TV is gradually replacing the traditional Analog TV terminal role. Ability to obtain a good user experience (User Experience) is the focus of attention by the major TV terminal manufacturers and TV content providers, but also is the key to win market. Traditional TV is basically only playing ordinary quality video and audio programs, and can not implement interactive operation between terminal and user. Not to mention the modern graphics user interface on it. A new generation of TV can render high-quality video and audio programs, and run a variety of applications, give users the brilliant and varied information interface, friendly interaction, and a variety of selection etc, and let customers feel "beauty" of the user experience. To achieve this goal, formerly successful browser technology in the field of computers and the Internet is a good reference solution. Therefore to master the implementation of browser technology in the TV terminal is necessary. In the increasingly powerful computing ability of a variety of electronic equipment, the browser on a variety of computing devices will be an important software platform too. So to master this kind of technology has important technical value and commercial value in future.This paper first introduces the browser history and analyzes of the development history of the TV terminal browser. Describe after the history of the relevant specifications of the browser, and then analyzes the TV browser specifications: XHTML, DOM, CSS, ECMAScript, and in particular points out that the TV browser to the corresponding need to implement the requirements of the specifications. Then analyzes of nowadays excellent browser-Web Kit’s core structure and behavior, extracts the ideas and the essence as to learn from WebKit. So conform to the specification of TV Browser, consider cross-platform requirement, by using the advantages of WebKit, the system design of TV Explorer has been worked out. And divides the system into the following core modules:Loader module, XML Parser module/CSS Parser module and DOM module, the Rendering module, the Scripting module and so on. Then carry out the detailed design of the system’s core modules. Finally, after taking full test and analyzes the test result, summarize the design of the TV Explorer and gives the current running status.
