Iterative learning control is a technique for improving the transient response and tracking performance of processes, machines, equipment, or systems that execute the same trajectory, motion, or operation repetitively. The idea behind Iterative learning control is that if the system’s operating conditions are the same each times it executes then any errors in the tracking response will be repeated during each operation. These errors and the control input signal can be recorded during every repetition and the information can be used to compute a new input signal that will be applied to the system during the next repetition so that the tracking accuracy would be increased as the number of repetitions increases. With the emerging of the cyclic of repetitive systems or processes in industry, Iterative learning control has become a key technique of advanced controls.Firstly, the development history and research of present situation of iterative learning control are introduced, the basic concepts and fundamental issues of the iterative learning control theory are described in detail; secondly, the composition of rotating platform servo system is introduced and its model is established, and the factors effecting stable rotation is introduced; Then, iterative learning control applied to the rotating platform servo control system as a control methods which is put forward response to inaccurate inference model, a variety of control methods are compared, the iterative learning controller is designed, and simulation model of the entire system is established in the MATLAB/Simulink, and simulation study is done. Finally, the improvement of iterative learning control is to combine iterative learning control and neural control together, and simulation study is done. The results showed, that comparing the application of take iterative learning control directly into rotating platform servo system and PID-tyre control methods, the control performance has been greatly improved.The above studies have shown that taking iterative learning control into rotating platform system will greatly enhance the performance, especially its stability, which broadens the field of iterative learning applications, and has a certain value.
