Chinese Newspaper Official Sina Weibo Use Present Situation And Problems Of Research

The rise of micro-blog is both an opportunity and a challenge to Chinesenewspapers.According to this study, nearly40%of Chinese newspapers have openedofficial micro-blogs in Sina Weibo and most of the major Chinese newspapers have anoffical mircro-blog. In such a context, this thesis studied the general status of Chinesenewspaper official micro-blogs in Sina Weibo, the most influential micro-blog website inChina in three dimensions: the volume, organization form and the popularity. Meanwhile,the thesis took People’s Daily,Southern Metropolis Daily and China Business News as anexample and analyzed the contents of the three Chinese newspaper micro-blogs posted inSina Weibo from September1to30,2012in terms of their sources, forms of expressionand content composition.To sum up, this thesis studied the general status and the contents of Chinesenewspaper official micro-blogs in Sina Weibo and unveiled the problems in thedevelopment of newspaper micro-blog in an attempt to propose corresponding solutions.
