| With the development of science and technology, the application and ability ofmobile communication are getting wider and stronger. Meanwhile, people are aware ofthe importance of information security of mobile commucation. As the kernel ofinformation security technology, the cipher technology of mobile commucation is alsopayed more and more attention.In mobile communication engineering, to design and implement a certaincryptographic system is often the way of the application of the cipher technology. In thispaper, a typical mobile commucation system is considered as the background. The needfor cryptography is analysed and the function and performance of the cryptographicsystem are specified first. After the study of the cryptosystem, the infrastructure, the keymanagement, the ways of information encryption and the support of mobilitymanagement, the general design of the mobile commucation cryptographic system isproposed. Finally, the key performance of the cryptographic system is analysed.As for the cryptosystem, a stream cipher is used to encrypt the voice; a blockcipher is used to encrypt the short message, the data and the key; a hash algorithm isused to validate the integrity of information. As for the infrastructure, a mobile stationencryptor and a core net encryptor are set. The former is for the mobile station userwhile the latter is for the base station user. There is also a KDC(Key Distribution Center)used to manage the encryptors. As for the key management, keys are designed todistributed automatically, and a key changing mechanism is designed to guarantee thelong-term encryption without the user’s intervention. As for the ways of informationencryption, several encryption methods are carried out for the mobile/central stationuser’s voice, short message and data communication in a single/multiple nodenetwork. As for the support of mobility management, the cryptographic system iscapable of the mobile user’s authentication, roaming service, etc.Generally, the mobile communication cryptographic system has the key features asthe low coupling with the commucation system, the low use of commucation resourceand easy for users to use. The design of the mobile communication cryptographic system could be a helpful reference for an engineering project. |
