The Transportation Committee of Guangzhou is responsible for managing the port,highway, waterway transport, post and telecommunications industry, coordinatingtransportation systems, promoting enterprise reform, optimizing the structure of transportationindustry, and coordinating the development.With the advent of the information age, the development of office automation and thegovernment structural reform force the government to promote its information technology. TheTransportation Committee of Guangzhou plans to improve traffic flow in use of advancedcomputer management system, unified management and coordination of the transportationinfrastructure in Guangzhou.Guangzhou City traffic sites are dispersed on geography but managed on the relativeconcentration. Most of the sites do not currently have a network connection, so themanagement system of the client program requires the full use of local resources, easy todeployment and support offline operation and other functions. The same time, the managementsystem capable of supporting user permission settings, multi-user operating, data securityfeatures.Traditional fat clients take full advantage of the resources of the client, users can workoffline, but very complex to deploy and maintain. Thin client is based on browser, quick torespond, and easy to deploy and maintain. However, the browser must have a real-timenetwork connection.Following the development of.NET technology, Microsoft proposed next-generationarchitecture model-Smart Client application model. The applications that based on the modelof smart client have a variety of features: highly use of local resources and occasional use ofnetwork resources, support smart update. Not only does it have the advantages of the fat clientapplications, but also combines the ease of deployment of thin-client applications, SmartClient represents the new generation of client applications. Therefore, the smart clientapplication model represents a new development model, combined with the online applicationservice Web Service and encryption technology; meet the basic requirements of theGuangzhou traffic facilities management system.In this thesis, we collect the theoretical knowledge of traffic management, transportationconstruction engineering and software engineering. We also use.NET technology, MicrosoftSQL Server2005database technology. Achieve the basic goal of foundation, we further improve the system on creative function like data automatically update, permissionsassignment, data format conversion between datasets and XML, data encryption and userauthentication in order to meet the specific needs of the management system.In the data automatic update feature, we add marked field to ensure local datasynchronization to the server when client switch from offline to online. The client isautomatically excluded from the data has not been modified, only upload synchronization ofdata. That would reduce network transmission pressure. Also the use of marked field solvesthe data conflict issue between the original data and the modified data when multi-user operatethe same data.Dataset with XML data format conversion functions maintain user data sets onlyoperation. On the client side, the data set with respect to XML, is more comprehensive andeasier to operate. This feature allows the user to easily switch between offline, online, and twostates, the system always maintain the operation optimization data.The permissions assigned functions determine the role of the user in the system and theoperating authority to improve the security of the system data. Data encryption and userauthentication features improve the security of network data transmission as well as serverdata.This thesis based on the smart client application model; analyze smart client applicationdesign and implementation of the key technical problems that must be addressed in the process:the client and the server architecture, the client and server communications strategy, dataprocessing, connection management and automatic updates. Combined with the actual case-traffic infrastructure information management system, based.NET environment, MicrosoftSQL Server2005database technology, we complete the smart client application design.With this comprehensive information management system of transportation infrastructure,Guangzhou traffic department can be more convenient for management on roads, bridges andother infrastructure facilities.
