Along with the rapid development of internet technology, multimedia information transmissionhas become prevalent in the network. The transmission of music, video and other applications in themobile internet has been playing significant roles in the era of3G and beyond-3G service. Sincemusic has been widely transmitted on line, the study of music packet loss recovery techniques hasbeen of great importance, as it helps to save the broadband and ensure the quality of music intransmission.Network simulation technology, an essential tool for network technology research, is alsocrucial for the research on multimedia music signal transmission packet loss. In the course of newtechnology study, the realization of the actual network system is often costly or impractical due tovarious reasons. In this case, simulation has been the best alternative for tests, evaluation andverification. This subjects is based on Windows+Cygwin+NS2.29simulation system platform, using theNS-2simulation tool, establish a system which music signal transmission the network on it, and thisis used to study the technology which music packet loss control or recovery in the networktransmission. In this simulation process, the transmitting side sets a music file to be transmitted, thereceiving terminal according to the received data to re-composition of a reception file. During thesimulation process, Firstly, write OTcl script, and establish the network topology, protocol proxyconfiguration traffic generator; Then, process the music signal, mark out important information (forexample Onset point); at last, compare the transmitted and the received music files, to evaluate thethe performance of the technology in the actual network transmission.
