This paper studies the non-contact measurement methods of the yarn dynamic tension,namely using the digital image processing techniques to detect the yarn tension, and focuseson the acquisition method of yarn balloon digital image and processing methods. Firstly, thispaper designs the CCD imaging system for capturing a yarn balloon image, and analyses thecharacteristics of the yarn balloon digital image; Secondly, on the basis of MATLAB,thispaper takes advantage of several classic image processing technology, such as imagedenoising, image compression, image edge detection, etc., to process the yarn balloon digitalimage, as well as the wavelet-based image processing method. And then given to thecharacteristics of the yarn balloon image and the comparison of the various image processingtechnology, we ultimately determine the digital image processing program which is applicableto the yarn balloon image, and at the same time, this paper studies a specific method to extractthe relevant characteristics of the yarn balloon; Finally, the yarn balloon digital imageprocessing system is designed based on the MATLAB Guide. The specific content of thispaper is as follows:(1)this paper describes the important applications of digital image processingtechnology in the textile industry, and introduces the development history and research statesof the digital image processing technology and wavelet-based digital image processingtechnology in the textile industry;(2)this paper designs the yarn balloon CCD shooting system to capture the yarn balloonphoto accurately;(3)this paper takes advantage of the digital image processing technology to process theyarn balloon image. Based on the MATLAB software, we programmed the imagepre-processing algorithms, such as the image denoising, compression, and edge detection, andthen compares the results of different image processing to determine the image pre-processingscheme that is most suitable to the yarn balloon image;(4)this paper studies the specific characteristics extraction method of the yarn balloon,and gets the feature extraction results successfully, and then gives out a specific program tocalculate the radius and the half apex angle of the yarn balloon;(5)this paper designs a yarn balloon digital image processing system based on MATLABGUIDE, and have it to come true that just key operation to quickly get the balloon features.Experiments prove that the balloon digital image processing system is easy-to-use andconvenient to eliminate the trouble of writing program, and can improve speed ability of theyarn tension monitoring.
