As the request of social development, video surveillance system has been applied a lot and has a big market, and IP network camera is a kind of common surveillance system device. Video processing system software is an important part of IP network camera system software; it responds to many functions and tasks in the IP network camera system software and has a good value in application field. This thesis develops the video processing system software based on DM8148processor, this software is applied in the IP network camera that uses DM8148processor.At first, this thesis introduces the background of video surveillance system, the subject of itself, video signal and image format, video capture, video codec, the platform and software environment of DM8148processor, etc. All of them are related with the development of video processing system software.Then, this thesis makes the requirement of system software clear, and develops the system software from two aspects:general design and detailed design. In general design, the system software is divided into7modules, and then the relationship and data flow among them are developed. In detailed design, the flow of each module is developed. At last, the boot flow of system software and the running status of it are shown.What is more, this thesis develops an improved algorithm based on the motion detection algorithm that is in-use in the system software. The test results show that the improved algorithm keeps the advantages of the original algorithm and improves the disadvantage of easily being affected by background movements.At last, this thesis summaries all items and brings up future developments.
