As one of our country’s unique and vibrant majors, Broadcasting and Hosting Arts has gone through a pretty long journey of50years. These50years make Broadcasting and Hosting Arts from nobody is interested to hot recruit.According to a survey, our country has more than300institutions (including universities and col leges) opened this major--Broadcasting and Hosting Arts. Many positions such as television news announcer and hosts does not require frequent substitutions, some news announcers and hosts can do the job for decades. Second, at present the employers are lacking of unique, innovative talents with excellent comprehensive abil ity. Many employers are willing to spare large expense to select the hosts and announcers that suitable for the program characteristics instead of using low-cost graduates to play the role, though they can select one of the best in the latter. At the same time, there is a phenomenon that the best and hottest host in the media industry, does not graduated in the major of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts."2009China TV Ranking" released by "News weekly" in2010shows that, till2010there are12hosts received the award since2003. However, there are only three of them graduated from the professional institutions of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts. Others of them, Like Sa Be in ing, Shui Junyi, Rui Chenggang, Wang Xiaoya, Wang Zhi and Bai Yansong, are graduated from the Department of Chinese literature, Journalism Department or the Department of Foreign Languages. Located in the southwestern border, Yunnan also have the existence of this situation:The Yunnan TV newscaster Liu Gang majors in music; Yunnan radio host Zhang Xiaoguang grown to a host just by explore in practice without any professional training; the famous Kunming TV host Long Kai is a Director major graduate of the Yunnan Arts University. This phenomenon should arouse our attention that why so many famous hosts and announcers are not graduated from the Broadcasting and Hosting Arts major? Why the employers do not choose and recruit those graduates who major in Broadcasting and Hosting Arts?
