Epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis (hereinafter referred to as ECM) is a purulent meningitis which is spread through the respiratory tract caused by Neisseria meningitidis (Nm) in China. It is a kind of infectious disease that endangers people’s health.In order to grasp the dynamic information of meningitis epidemic, understanding the distribution and trends of the ECM flora, effectively control the outbreak of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis and ensure the health of the masses. Weifang develops meningitis monitoring program.In order to facilitate the effective implementation of the ECM monitoring programs,the Center for Disease Control in Weifang has raised the idea of establishing Weifang ECM monitoring information management system to realize the monitor information management of ECM.This article introduces that the system is supported by the UML modeling language, use-case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram describes the design and implementation process of Weifang ECM monitoring information management system.Firstly,the development background is showed in the article,then followed requirement elicitation,describing the function requirement of the system with the use-case analysis and use-case diagram.The system is divided into six demanded modules:reporting card management, Case Browser, aggregation of the epidemic management, healthy population of antibody levels and carrier rate monitoring, susceptibility testing and emergencies querying.Designing the system architecture and structure of the program,detailed describing the design of the system withe class diagram and sequence diagram,showing the system database table structure and parts of the system function code,realizing the system function interface, describingrealizing process of some features withe activity diagram,finally whole system is tested which establishs ECM monitoring information management system.The system is supported by B/S structure mode and designed by multi-tier architecture Struts+Spring+Hibernate integration framework based on J2EE,which realizes the separation of not only view, controller and model,but also the business logic and persistence layer.Reporting card management, Case browser, aggregation of the epidemic management, healthy population of antibody levels and carrier rate monitoring, susceptibility testing and emergencies querying are realized by use of the SQLServer2005database manager as the data storage.Adding, querying, browsing and other functions of the ECM case study information, ECM vaccination and the level of population’s immunity, close contacts with patients and other information are realized in the system which provides an electronic platform for Weifang ECM monitoring information management.
