Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) has an important influence in antenna test field, which support an effective method to meet the restrictions in distance and environment in the testing field of high frequency antenna. Of all kinds of CATR, reflecting CATR developed quickly and had much more application due to its wide frequency band, lower design complexity and suitable produce difficulty. Developed from single reflector and due-reflector, tri-reflector CATR is composed of one feed, one standard curve reflector with bigger size, two shaped reflector with smaller size. Compared with single and due-reflector system, tri-reflector CATR has such advantages as:(1) possess high quiet zone utilization, which can reach70%;(2) two shaped reflectors can control and shape the beam better;(3) the system cost and produce complexity reduce.Theories of Geometrical optic and dynamic ray tracing method are used in system synthesizing process. In this process, we calculate the positions and curve parameters in each reflector from center point to outer side. In a well designed Tri-reflector CATR system, after reflected by three reflectors, a spherical wave from feed can turn into a pseudo plane wave in the output field.
