With the continuous development of the oil industry, LWD (Logging While Drilling) technology improves gradually, and occupies the important position of the oil and mining industries. LWD technology is developed, and it is based on MWD (Measuring While Drilling).Rely on the advantages of transmitting the underground geological parameters, oil and gas storage information and other information in real time to the ground without interruption while drilling and processing and analyzing timely, the technology is widely used by the oil industry.In the process of LWD, the well logging data need to be analyzed real-timely in order to confirm the situation of underground oil bearing. And then field man can make decision on the direction of drilling. The ground geological parameters transmitted in form of pressure pulse are preprocessed by ground data acquisition processor and then converted to data identified for field man. Therefore, if the ground data acquisition processor can work normally, smoothly and orderly conducting of oil exploration can be guaranteed.Firstly, the research background and significance are described, and the entire ground data acquisition processor’s hardware structure, communication interfaces and core components are described. Then the single-chip microcomputer controlling software and PC testing software for the ground data acquisition processor of LWD is designed in this paper. According to the characteristics of512K*8RAM’s large capacity storage in the ground data acquisition processor configuration, the method of testing RAM based on bit was provided in the single-chip microcomputer software, which could ensure correct data storage of each byte.2.5V reference voltage source of the processor’s A/D conversion circuit was designed, which was used to test the precision of A/D conversion. In addition, the single-chip microcomputer software provided two kinds of test mode:low-speed sampling and high-speed sampling, for testing the data sampling and converting rate of A/D. Due to powerful data processing ability of PC, the technical indicators of ground data acquisition processor can be displayed with digit and graph by the PC software. Finally, through the debugging, sampling data in form of packet are output through RS232serial port, PC will receive the packet, and makes the extracted data display in form of waveform and characters. Therefore, whether the technical index of processor is in the correct range can be judged intuitively. Couple with the single-chip microcomputer testing software and PC software, normal work of the ground data acquisition processor can be guaranteed reliably.
