With development of technology, relationship between motor and industrial productionbecome more and more closely, motor control requirements are increasing gradually. Theperformance of control system depends largely on the accurate measurement of motorparameters,but because of the operation environment and some other reasons, led to motorparameters unable or difficult to use conventional measurement instruments to measure directly.Therefore, how to quickly and accurately identify motor parameters to ensure the goodperformance of control system, has always been the motor control areas of research hotspot.The emergence of soft-measurement technology, give a good ideas and means for detectproblems in the industrial process. Method is to analyze the relationship between targetparameters and process parameters, then through the process parameters to get the targetparameters indirectly. So this method is a good solution to slove the detection problem inindustrial production.In this paper, a motor parameter measurement and testing system based on virtualinstruments, microcontroller and soft measurement technology is developed. The main contentsof paper includes the following areas:1、For the problem of soft measurement algorithm, this paper introduces the basicprinciples of soft measurement technology and modeling methods, including the mechanismmodeling neurons, principal component analysis, partial least squares, system identification andoptimization algorithms, and make a detailed analysis of the system identification.2、For the problem of modeling and system identification, this paper presents a softmeasuring method based on recursive least squares method to identify motor parameters on-line.This method realized the on-line identification of induction motor parameters by established asteady state mathematical model and use the method of recursive least squares. The system simulation model is built in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment, and experimental resultsare given to verify that this method is useful to identify the motor parameters accurately andrapidly.3、For the problem of hardware design, detection system is mainly consists of MCUmodule, measurement module, display module and communication module. C8051F340microcontroller is used as the central processor to process the data detected from DSP chip andsensors, then through the LCD screen for real-time display, and communication with computervia USB Network.4、For the problem of software design, the development of human-computer interactionsystem is based on LabVIEW virtual instrument. Main features include: Set motor controlparameters; Data acquisition and waveform display; Data analysis and management. Mainprocess are as follows: first, computer communicates with microcontroller through USBinterface, then processing real time data acquisition and use Access database for storage. Finally,data in database are transfered for analysising and processing.5、Combination of hardware and software systems, and take a overall debugging.Testedby experiment, the most significant advantages of this system are stable operation, low cost,simple operation, flexibility, short development cycle and so on. Thus, it is valuable formotor research and has a market potential in the future.
