The computer stereo vision has a wide range of applications in the precision machining, robot navigation, and object recognition. Three-dimensional measurement as a major component of the stereo vision can be divided into two parts:contact measurement and non-contact measurement. Among them, coding structured light as one of the non-contact measurements, has extraordinary advantages, such as higher accuracy, simpler structure, and lower cost. In addition, it is easier to implement, becoming one of the hottest research in the field of machine vision in recent years. In this paper, the camera-projector three-dimensional reconstruction system based on the principle of parallax binocular is established, and three-dimensional reconstruction formula is obtained. Optical structure of proposed system is introduced, and a lot of system parameters, such as optical position and focal length of the camera and the projector, rotation and translation matrix between different coordinate systems are discussed. The proposed system has two advantages compared with the traditional measurement systems. Such as the connection of the camera optical center and the projector optical center don’t need to be parallel with the reference surface, and the optical axis of the camera don’t need perpendicular to the reference plane. Then, a combination of gray code technology based on the basic gray code is proposed to solve the coordinate point matching problem. According to the system parameters and gray code, the optical three-dimensional reconstructions of a pyramid and a monkey objects are implemented. Reconstruction results show that the proposed method is practicable. The following study is about the factors that affect the three-dimensional reconstruction resolution. By increasing the density of the sampling stripes and decreasing the distance between the projector and the measured object, the reconstructed three-dimensional image resolution is improved. Finally, the gray code projection based on a dual projector is proposed. By using the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technology, the aliasing gray code patterns are separated. At the same time, the projection efficiency is doubled. By means of the gray code, the system parameters and the reconstruction of mathematical formulas, the three-dimensional reconstruction of the pyramid are finished.
