Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a hot area of research in recent years. It is a bridge to the objective world and information world and an important means of detection of human nature. With integrated network technology, traditional sensor technology, modern computer technology and modern sensor technology have wide and potential future with various applications.Zigbee technology is a new short-distance wireless communications technology, and it is a low-power, low speed, low-cost and low complexity wireless standard. It can be widely used in industrial controls, consumer electronics, intelligent buildings, etc. and provides a new solution and strong support for wireless sensor network (WSN). However, ZigBee technology in domestic application and promotion is still in its infancy at present, many technology remains to be perfect. Therefore, problem such as wide applications fields of ZigBee, improve optimization and performance analysis has become one of current hot research topic.First, this paper introduces ZigBee technology technical characteristics, present status at home and abroad and application prospect, made briefly compared with other short-range wireless communication technology, described the ZigBee protocol stack architecture in detail, provides a theoretical basis for design of ZigBee nodes. Then choose the appropriate components completed the design of ZigBee measurement&control node according to the principles and characteristics of wireless sensor node design, considering the demand of low power consumption and anti-jamming design from two aspects of hardware and software and put forward the corresponding measures. Then made a simple introduction to the ZigBee network equipment type and topology, thoroughly researches ZigBee routing algorithm including tree routing algorithm, AODVjr algorithm and Cluster-Tree+AODVjr algorithm.put forward a ZigBee routing algorithm base on energy consumption balance.Finally constructing experimental platform to test and analyze the capabilities of designed node and complete the network test. Unlike other ZigBee node design, the experimental results show that the design of node in the text not only has a small size, low power consumption, low cost and strong compatibility, but also assembled the monitoring and control functions. A measurement and control function node is achieved. It provides reference for wireless sensor network node design and practical application.
