Both the national and local governments have proposed many preferential policies in this area. However, in nowadays, the equipments to support the information technology and access the internet mainly depend on the personal computer (PC) with the price ranged from3000to4000RMB, which is unbearable for farmers. In addition, the operations of PC are too complicated and unable to provide accurate information on demand for the farmers. These drawbacks.of the nowadays information technology mode have become the obstacles for further informatization progressShandong University and Câ…¢C have proposed a new information mode called" the multimedia thin client+broadband network+server" to solve the problems of the current information mode. The model focuses on solving the two problems concerning the obstacle on high price and the obstacle on difficult knowledge. This project has finished the demos and demonstrations on its roles and advantages, in the areas of community informatization, education informatization and office informatization at Zouping, Jiyang and Jining in Shandong province. This project has tested and verified the feasibility of the new mode. Furthermore, it provides an invaluable reference on the progress of information industry for other regions of China. The multimedia thin clients are only taken as the interaction tools between users and servers and, all data processing tasks are handed in the servers where cloud computing technology is adopted. This makes the client simpler and reduces the corresponding price together with the difficulty to use..This paper developed the two generations multimedia thin clients based on the embedded system.â—The central processor of the first generation hardware is the S3C6410which is the ARM architecture with a single core and low power consumption. We use the modular design method to short the development cycle. The system integrates one key to recovery system function. The thin terminal system uses the19inch LCD monitor as the output equipment with1024*768display resolution. We can use the first generation to access the network, take photo, chat with others and edit online.â—The central processor of the second generation multimedia thin client hardware system is the M3which is the ARM architecture with a single core, low power consumption and powerful processing ability. The thin terminal system uses the19inch LCD monitor as the output equipment with1024*768display resolution. It has a local upgrade, remote upgrade and one key to recovery system function. We can use the thin client to access the network, chat with others and watch online streaming media. |
