Now the information level of the coal industry in our country is still lagging behind, mainly in three aspects:firstly, the existing coal mine safety monitoring subsystem are relatively closed, independent and somehow lack of timeliness. Secondly, there are many overlapping functions among those subsystems, which lead to confusing management and a waste of resources. Lastly, the lack of timely access to the security analysis information makes the supervision relatively passive. The combination of mobile communication technology, mobile terminal application technology, and the original information system has become an important means to solve the bottleneck of coal mine safety monitoring.Meanwhile, in the coal main safety monitoring field, those terminal applications have appeared in the market and been applied to meet the production monitoring requirements at any time and any places. However, these existed applications are only limited to meet the special requirements of one certain coal mine without being able to cover the full needs of the industry; neither could be applied to other coal mines.In this paper, a mobile intelligent terminal application is proposed. It is full-featured, portable, extensible and reliable. The terminal application is located in the coal main safety monitoring system, provides managers services with data from the monitoring service system, services including safety data monitoring, hidden danger information management, warning and early warning information management, video monitoring, report management, people location and scheduling, notifications and study, etc. Besides, there are some management functions such as application management, user authentication and so on. By using the mobile terminal application, managers can obtain and control the production situation timely.In this paper, the dedicated scheme of design and implementation is presented in detail. Android operation system and other related technology is introduced firstly. Then the requirement of terminal application is analyzed from three angles:service functions, management functions and performance. The design model of the mobile terminal application and its service processes are described in the core part of the paper, including the analysis of key issues in the design process. Then the test procedure, the application and deployment of the system are shown, its performance is described in the test part. The last part of this paper gives a prospect for the development of the terminal application.
