The Return Of Guo Moruo And Xinhua Daily In The Anti-Japanese War Historical And Cultural Context

Doing a good job in politics and art with skill and ease, and shouldering dual social image artists and politicians, one is always a trend-setter trying to achieve the realization of personal ideals. This is the existence of a complex modern Chinese scholar that is Guo Moruo. He is the first writer in modern Chinese literature history for whom the Chinese Communists had been celebrated birthday with a great fanfare. What’s more, he is the first writer served as national leaders. When he dead, he was ratified as another banner after Lu Xun by the Chinese Communists. Honors winning after the founding of the PRC are closely link to his propaganda activities during the period of Anti-Japanese War. Moreover, that is closely related to cultural leader status formed in the Anti-Japanese War. The war made his prosperous lifelong, and foreshadow the gradual disappearance of literary individuality at the same time. In1941, the CPC Central planed Guo’s birthday celebration, and Xinhua Daily which is the only paper founded by the CPC in Kuomintang-controlled areas carried out publicity and reports before and after. In the Xinhua Daily editorial celebrate, Zhou Enlai praised that Guo is the commanding general of the new cultural front. And in this article, Zhou also expressed the hope that Guo would lead us to move forward together. This comment in fact confirmed Guo Moruo’s cultural leadership. During the Anti-Japanese War, Xinhua Daily shaped the image of Guo for a long time, and pushed him to the front of history stage as cultural leaders at his very important age. In view of the special relationship between Guo Moruo and the Xinhua Daily during the Anti-Japanese War period, this paper intends to specialized and in-depth investigation of the relationship between the two during the war. I hope to return to the scene of history, and to provide a new perspective for the transformation of Guo’s literary thought along with the founding of PRC. Meanwhile, the writer tries to make a reduction of Guo Moruo as the richness and complexity of the individual.In this paper, the main part consists of four chapters, and they are--ratification of two flags: existing evaluation of Guo Moruo and the Xinhua Daily, Xinhua Daily shaping the image of Guo Moruo during the Anti-Japanese War, transformation of literary thought of Guo Moruo from the perspective of Xinhua Daily, Guo Moruo influenced in building Xinhua Daily to spiritual fortress. Departure from reality existing evaluation about Guo and "Xinhua Daily", this article mean to question whether Guo Moruo and the "Xinhua Daily" image and relationship in the Anti-Japanese War are such as later consistent. Then from the Xinhua Daily view to see the image of Guo Moruo during the Anti-Japanese War, and later examine the nature of Xinhua Daily newspaper from Guo, we can restore the dynamic development of Guo Moruo and Xinhua Daily. With the Xinhua Daily gradually transformed into the CPC newspaper, and changes in the CPC-KMT relations, Guo Moruo literature thoughts and political attitudes was changed. After the founding of PRC, facing the Chinese culture on the occasion of the transition, Guo Moruo’s literary thought realize the transformation. Setting the Xinhua Daily as a window to observe Guo’s modification of previous literary discourse after the liberation war, provide a new explanation for the reformation of Guo’s literary thought along with the founding of PRC.The first part introduces Guo Moruo and Xinhua Daily. Make a simple combing for existing evaluation. After Guo’s death,he was ratified as another banner after Lu Xun by the Chinese Communists. While at that time, Xinhua Daily was likened to a red flag plug in Kuomintang-controlled areas. According to Xinhua news reporter memories that Guo Moruo and the Xinhua Daily had close ties more than a paper meant to a person at the period of Anti-Japanese War. From this point of view, question whether the relationships between them and analysis the cause of those understanding.Next, sorting through the Xinhua Daily reported on Guo Moruo, the second portion finds that Xinhua Daily shaped Guo image of the Anti-Japanese War periodically. From the national democratic progress Guo director to the culture leaders of the resistance, and to the horn r of the party, as the situation changes, Guo Moruo’s political position and discourse direction has changed. Combined the publication of representative works during the period of Anti-Japanese War, and then observe the changes of Guo Moruo Anti-Japanese War literature discourse field.The third portion of the body of the text carefully controls the transformation of the text after the liberation. Through the research, try to see the relationship between Guo and Xinhua Daily in the resistance. This chapter attempts to observe Xinhua Daily how to make the reformation of Guo. In addition, from the angle of "Xinhua Daily", aims at what links to the reformation of Guo’s literature thought.Finally, at the end of the text, the writer casts her eyes over Guo Moruo to find his influence on Xinhua Daily. Although at early period of the Anti-Japanese war, Guo Moruo and Xinhua Daily have common persistence. However, due to historical reasons, they were not so close as existing views described at the very beginning. The birthday celebration, CRC changed its arts and culture policy, Xinhua Daily revision, and so on, things make Xinhua Daily grown up to the CPC newspaper gradually. At the same time, Xinhua Daily form Guo-centric culture bastion of the spirit in the Kuomintang-controlled areas.
