Empirical Research On The Impact Of IT Capability To Enterprise Performance

Based on the theory of capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem theory,the paper empirical research studied the impact of IT capabilities on firm performance, andthen discussed the impact of the capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem onthe relationship between them.The existing literature on the study of enterprise IT capabilities is limited to try toresolve the impact of IT capabilities on firm performance using the resource-based view(RBV), dynamic capabilities perspective or from the perspective of corporatedecision-making. However, with the development of information technology (IT) andnetwork, the impact of IT on the enterprises has been expanding from the previous internalcorporations to the corporations in between. It is an effective means for enterprises to adaptto the changing economic environment to share and collaborative the information betweencorporations. To adapt to the new information environment, enterprises must learn tocooperate in competitions and make collaborative development. This thesis would explorethe impact of IT capabilities of enterprises from the perspective of the capabilities ofconcerted evolution of business ecosystem. It would mainly study the following questions.(1) To explore and expand the definition of IT capabilities. On the basis of a literaturereview, combined with the current situation enterprises are facing, this thesis divided ITcapability into the possession of the IT resources, IT internal collaboration capabilities andIT external collaboration capabilities;(2) To analyze the formation process and evaluationmethods of the capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem. Drawing lessonsfrom the management of inter-firm relations evaluation methods, this thesis developed ameasurement scale of the capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem to meetthe requirements of reliability and validity through statistical analysis;(3) To explore theimpact of the capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem in the IT capacitytowards corporate performance.Regarding the above questions, this thesis built the research model and proposed thecorresponding assumptions on the basis of literature. A total of122valid questionnaires wererecycled and the SPSS statistical analysis was used. Results showed that:①IT resourceshave a significantly positive effect on firm performance; IT internal collaborationcapabilities has a significantly positive effect on firm performance; IT external collaborationcapabilities to business performance does not have a significantly positive impact of the role;overall IT capacity has significantly positive impact of the role of corporate performance;②The IT capabilities have a significantly positive impact on the role of the capabilities of concerted evolution of business ecosystem;③The capabilities of concerted evolution ofbusiness ecosystem has partial impact on the relationship between the IT capacity andenterprise.
