An Empirical Study Of The Relationship Between Banking Development And Economic Growth Of Guangdong Province

The economy of Guangdong Province grows quickly and continuously sincereforming and opening. As the exploration of the mode of Scientific DevelopmentExperimental Zone, Guangdong GDP for 16 consecutive years to maintain two digitgrowth, at the same time, Guangdong Province bank industry is booming, the amountof financial assets and structure has changed greatly, with the reform of financialsystem and the gradual deepening of Guangdong, banking deposit scale, resourceconformity strength enhancement, comprehensive competitiveness continuouslyupgrade, system structure gradually improved. In such economic background, based onthe previous domestic and foreign banking development and economic growth:theoretical and empirical research, in Guangdong Province as the research object,using the year data since 1978, through co-integration test, Grainger causality testbased on VAR model and impulse response function and variance decompositiontechnology and measurement method, empirical analysis of Guangdong provincebanking structure, scale, efficiency and the relation between development andeconomic growth.The full text is divided into five parts, the first part describes the background andsignificance of this research, the development of bank industry category from the scale,structure and efficiency three respects undertake quantifying, elaborated each conceptconnotation, finally to the banking industry development and economic growth in theexisting literature at home and abroad are reviewed. The second part is to introduce thetheoretical basis -- the theory of economic growth and the theory of financialdevelopment, and economic growth and financial development mutual conductionmechanism is expounded. The third part use from Guangdong statistical yearbook tocollect relevant data, using the descriptive statistical method of Guangdong Provinceeconomy development and the bank industry development general situation to make avisual analysis, that there is certain relationship between rough conclusion.
