The Construction And Application Of Environmental Performance Evaluation Index System Of Motor Manufacturing Industries

With social progress and improvement of living standards, people are more andmore concerned to environmental, many natural disasters and environmental pollutionevents occur more frequently than before, many countries begin to make more andmore strict laws and regulations so as to regulate business activities. Many countriestry to work together to cope with global environmental problems. Manufacturingprocess can have big influence on the environment. There has the same situation inmotor industries, we all know that there have many kinds of pollutions whenproducing cars. For example, many kinds of gas can be produced which are bad topeople’s health when painting, it also have big influence to the earth. Since more andmore people plan to buy cars, this trend will add much more burden to theenvironment that we live. Many scholars tend to construct scale so as to measurecorporate environmental performance, but there has few people to measureenvironmental performance of motor industry. Since motor industry can polluteenvironment badly, and motor industry has an important impact on economic. So thisstudy has a very important significance.First of all, it illustrates the development of motor industry in china, andproposes research questions and provides purpose of construct environmentalperformance indicators. The literature review section of this paper states a briefreview of environmental performance and environmental performance of motorindustries, summarizes environmental performance evaluation methods, which arewidely used in business study, such as: analytic hierarchy process, data envelopmentmethod and so on. In the following section, it describes advantages and disadvantagesof various methods. Based on the characters of research objective, data envelopmentanalysis is chosen as main research methods. In order to better select the relevantindicators, different principles of index selection is introduced in this paper. According to China’s basic national conditions and development of motor industry,combined with the international popular environmental performance index selection,environmental performance indicators of motor industry is constructed.Because this article select data envelopment analysis as primary evaluationmethod, so the input and output indicators are divided into two parts. Environmentaldata are usually not easy to get. For qualitative indicators, it will use method of fuzzycomprehensive method to get data so that qualitative indicators can be converted todetailed number. In this way, it can ensure accuracy of the results and persuasivenessof the thesis.The last part discusses the flaws and shortcomings in this paper, and gives somerecommendations in order to improve the environmental performance of China’sautomobile manufacturing enterprise. On the one hand, governors need to makereasonable laws and regulations so as to regulate system of corporate behavior, and toprovide enterprises with good platform of disclose environmental information. On theother hand, companies need to develop efficient management systems to improvestaff work environment, and establish appropriate environmental managementdepartments to manage business environment related issues. Finally, future trends ofenvironment study of motor industry are given in this paper.
