Research On The Problems Of Urbanization And Urban-rural Income Gap In Hubei Province

With the development of each country, there are always accompanied with the problems of Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap, so many scholars have been pay attention to not only them, but also their relation. At present, the academic circles have reach a conclusion on the influence of the Urban-rural income gap to the Urbanization, namly the expansion of Urban-rural income gap can accelerate the course of Urbanization. But the question of whether we can raise the level of Urbanization so as to narrow the Urban-rural income gap, is each according to its lights.China has a vast territory, and the economic development among provinces is very different. While the strategic conception of " Promote the central provinces to rise abruptly" which put forward in the "fifteenth" plan, offered good opportunity to the development of central provinces. Therefore, this paper chooses Hubei province as the research object, in order to let one unit guide a whole area, and have an effection of promoting the economic development of the whole central provinces.This paper defined the concepts of city and Urbanization, Industrialization and Urbanization firstly, then under the guidance of western Urbanization theory which bases on two models of Lewis and Todaro. After collection and collation the relevant date among1978to2010years of Hubei province, this paper analyse the current situation, the exist problems and the main reasons for these problems of Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap in Hubei province respectively. Secondly, we conceive urban population, urban and rural labor productivity ratio, industrialized rate as well as the tertiary industry employment proportion to measure the development condition of Hubei Urbanization, then by using the Eviews6.0software, we handle Engle-Granger method in the paper to analyse Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap of Huber province compresensively. It besides constructing long-term relation between Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap of Hubei province, which is used to be ecm, then employing ecm as the explanatory variable, as well as other ones, to construct a short-term model, Error Correction Model; through the examination of Granger causation among variables, there are Granger causations between Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap, which indicate that it exists close relation between Urbanization and Urban-rural income gap of Hubei province, and Urbanization has a significant impact on Urban-rural income gap; put forward come proposes on the establishment and regulations of how to improve the level of Urbanization in order to narrow the Urban-rural income gap in Hubei province, on account of analysis results.
