In recent years, the product-harm crises are found in domestic and foreign enterprises,which not only have frequently interfered with the normal production and life ofenterprises stakeholders, but also have produced serious negative social influences, whichcaused widespread concern for all walks of life. With the occurrence of product-harmcrises, to a certain extent, it is showed that enterprises lack the relevant social responsibility.The literature about corporate social responsibility and corporate performance shows thatmost scholars agree that corporate social responsibility is related with corporateperformance, which laid the theoretical foundation for this study. However, inproduct-harm crises,whether corporate social responsibility has some influences oncorporate performance needs further study. In this regard, the paper makes lead-smeltingindustry in Henan as an example of an empirical study.The result of the survey shows that in the product-harm crises, corporate socialresponsibility has caused different influences on corporate performance. Enterprises fulfillresponsibilities of their community, employees, government and environment,which hassignificant influences on corporate economic performance. Enterprises fulfillresponsibilities of their community, government and environment, which has significantinfluences on corporate social performance while enterprises fulfill employeesresponsibility has no significant influences on corporate social performance. In theproduct-harm crises, enterprises fulfill community responsibility which has the mostgreatest influences on corporate social performance and corporate economic performance.This paper, to a certain extent, will have some references on how to improve corporateperformance in the product-harm crises. Finally, here are some suggestions: The enterpriseshould strengthen the product-harm crises management and be responsible for stakeholders;The enterprise should establish a sense of product-harm crises and build warningmechanism of the product-harm crises; The enterprise should change their business ideasand undertake the corporate social responsibility; The enterprise should develop along-term development strategy and pursue maximizing long-term benefits; Thegovernment should advocate the corporate social responsibility and create good socialatmosphere.
