How to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises is not only the most interesting thing for entrepreneurs, but also inspire many scholars to study. With the rise of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign globally, corporates start to fulfill their social responsibility from the stage of passive acceptance to active implementation. Many scholars use stakeholder theory and social capital theory to explain why CSR affect financial performance, and made a lot of empirical researches. The research regard to CSR and competitiveness of enterprises has just started and the main concern is the direct impact that CSR affect on the competitiveness of enterprises, few researches mentioned the function of social capital. In fact, social capital is the core factor that CSR can promote competitiveness. When corporates fulfill social responsibilities, they can get social capital which can help to obtain resources that lead to the enhancement of competitive advantage.Based on this consideration, we build a analytical framework that integrate CSR, social capital and competitiveness, along with the logic of "social responsibility to social capital to competitiveness", we studied the mechanism that CSR affect competitiveness of enterprises through intermediary transmission of social capital, use a sample of SMEs in Chang, Zhu, Tan Area. We try to explain the internal relationships between them. To achieve these goals, this study examined the following main issues:(1) The relationship between CSR and the competitiveness of enterprises;(2) The relationship between CSR and social capital;(3) The relationship between capital and the competitiveness of enterprises;(4) the integrate relationship of CSR, social capital and the competitiveness of enterprises. This paper first reviews the relevant literature, built the conceptual model, collect data, and then use structural equation modeling approach to Verify the hypotheses proposed before with the help of AMOS7.0software. Through empirical research, this paper researched the following conclusions:(1) CSR can help to improve competitiveness, but the effect of different dimensions of CSR are different;(2) the relationship among CSR, social capital and competitive are positive;(3) the intermediary role of social between CSR and competitiveness in proven.
