Calculation Of International Intra-product Specialization Share Of China’s Industry And Cause Strategies

With the growth of economics globalization and the science and technology in the1970s，the integration of the world economy continues to strengthen.the international tradebarriers and the cross-country production costs fall.The international intra-productspecialization，as a new international specialization style，has been expanding rapidly inthe world and becomes one of the main causes of the growth of the world trade in recentdecade years.International intra-product specialization is a multinational companies in theglobal production network as the leading，also is a new international specialization stylebased on the vertical specialization.The international product specialization penetrates intoworking procedure，that is to say，the special product procedure is shared into somephases.China’s industries have actively participated in this form of division of work andthe degree of vertical specialization goes deeper gradually.Based on china’s sixteenindustries,with the usage of the method of estimating the vertical specialization proportionby the Hummels and the input-output sheet of china from1997to2010，a estimate on thevertical specialization proportion of china’s exportation has been done.Furthermore，thepaper calculates the degree of vertical specialization of four types of industry from1997to2010，the result shows that capital and technology-intensive industries’ degree is largerthan labor-intensive industries and resource-intensive industries.This paper also researchestheoretically and empirically the promotive factors of china’s tntry into internationalintra-product specialization on the basis of calculation the VSS in china’s industry from1997to2009.The conclusion is that the factors such as relative advantage，scale economyand technology advancement are the important promotive factors.In the end，the author putforward some policy suggestions for upgrading the status of china’s industries participatethe international intra-product specialization.
